A Father's Journey...
Yesterday I blogged about my transition towards becoming the father I want to be and more importantly the Father God has called me to be. I look back and am extremely thankful for the character development I have been through. Sometimes you look back and can't "see the forest through the trees" and that has been part of my past. But to God's credit and honor, he has been working on me continually since I was born. I can see the hand of God as he has brought me to a point of surrender of everything to Him. In the midst of all the turmoil of the country and financial stuff, I have felt peace knowing OUR GOD is in total control and we have nothing to fear, for God is with us!

The 7 Secrets of Effective Fathers-BooK PDF Print E-mail

The Effective Father

Ken Canfield from the National Center for Fathers writes a book called, "The 7 Secrets of Effective Father"; Becoming the Father your Children Need. He gives you 7 straight forward, no nonsense practical ways to be a better father. In my opinion, each step helps us fathers to take a serious look at what we are already doing or not doing and then try to come into alignment with what is best for both us and our children. The 2 secrets that I feel that we as fathers forget more than we want to admit, but that is Secret #6, Active Listening, which means that we take time to listen to what our kids have to say and engage with them in the things that they love and are learning. What we as fathers all to often do is to only listen a short while if at all. But Secret #7 is Spiritual Equipping. One thing we know for sure, is that our society and the fathers in it are statistically absent or at the very least not engaged in the lives of their kids. Born out of need, my own story took a twist...

Several years ago, in the midst of a heated battle at work, fighting for my job and making a mess of my friends and colleagues around me, I woke up one day and realized this job nor my career was worth the Salvation of my children. I have been far from the model father, but when my job was on the line, and my family seemed to be lacking something it was then that I started looking deeper into God's plan for me as a Father and Husband. I wasn't as much worried about my career, I knew that was going to be okay, but what about my boys; was I being the Spiritual leader they needed? Was I providing the level of Spiritual strength to the home my wife required? Over the next year or so, I went on a journey from anger and bitterness of the way we all departed to not only healing, but complete understanding of God's plan for me and my life! Although I am not the author, this book will challenge you to take a deep look inside and see God's plan for you as a father. Get some scratch paper, a good highlighter and sit down for a great read. This book even though 2 years after the beginning of my personal journey, it is one that I will probably read again.

This book is a 1.5 Thumbs up, or 3.5 Stars.

40 Days of Focus PDF Print E-mail

I have decided to take these next for days to focus my prayer life! I am getting up @ 5AM to pray and to ask for God's next move, HIS direction for us! I have asked several men to join me in praying and will continue to do so!

It is time for MEN to become Godly again and it is time for men to be seeking the Lord as to HIS leading in all we do! If Men don't take back their Godly roles as Priest, Prophet, Protector & Provider, they we will continue to degenerate the family, the church and further the quagmire of this country.

Fathers need to take their place as disciplers of their children seriously and not shirk their responsibility to someone else. Deuteronomy 6 tells us to instruct our children all the time, in every part of the day and every aspect of life. We cannot allow someone else 7 hours a day to be the authority in our child's life and expect them not to be affected. If we pass off our authority to the school systems as Fathers, what do you expect? They are hearing things, socializing unBiblically, and experiencing life from a perspective that Biblical Christians cannot tolerate.

If you home school, everyone tells you they are worried about "Socialization", but from a Christian's perspective, what kind of socialization do you really want your kids to have? Do you want tattoos, piercings, fowl language and total disrespect for everyone? This is the kind of socialization you get in the regular school environment. Kids go to the lowest common denominator, the fowler it is the more they laugh. The meaner it is the louder they become. Even though a child or two may think that was not right, they will not step in and defend the person or stop it all together, "It's uncool" so the "Socialization" continues.

SO...
We as Men and Fathers have come for 40 days to pray for our children, our churches and God's direction! We lay ourselves and our families before the Lord and commit our selves totally to HIM.

Strange Epiphany... PDF Print E-mail

Over the last couple days, my parents have been here, my dad and I have gotten into several discussions about the church, pathfinders and how things are or are not being done.

I have come to realize that in the study of Malachi 4, there is no doubt that the fulfillment has not yet come to pass. Meanwhile its direct connection to the 3 Angles' messages of Revelation 14 are true, Malachi says Elijah will speak an end time message before the return of God. Revelation 14 reveals the everlasting gospel will go to the ends of the earth.
SO...
As you look at the claims of Malachi 4: 4 - 6, connected with Revelation 14: 6 - 12, you find that it involves the totality of the church. Changing all aspects and elements of how we train, empower, equip and disciple the next generation.

We as a church are "INSANE", by most church standards, we keep doing the same thing over and over again. but somehow we think that magically it will change or give us different results.

If we truly expect things to change, we MUST do things differently! What are you willing to let go in order to accomplish the mission you have been called to do?

Saving your kids... PDF Print E-mail

If you are a parent, would you let your children drink Antifreeze? So why do we send our children to Public or government schools? Our Government Schools are little more than acidic propaganda for secular humanism... There is no belief in God; so the basis for all education is founded in a false religious system of self!

How do we as Christians expect to pass on Biblical Values to our children, Deuteronomy 6, Ephsians 6, if we are not leading and discipling them all along the way each day?

The heathen mind believes in multigenerational faithfulness, it is about time Christians take them on at their own game!
